UITC Volunteer Agreement

UITC acknowledge and appreciate that volunteers give their time and efforts free of charge. It is important for both UITC and its volunteers to have a level of understanding and respect for each other. This document outlines what an individual can reasonably expect when volunteering with UITC and what UITC expects from its volunteers.

UITC will be responsible for:

  • Providing a description of a volunteer’s role
  • Providing an induction
  • Providing any training that is necessary for the role
  • Providing a named person that a volunteer can go to for support
  • Providing a safe environment
  • Reimbursing reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, where there are receipts or similar evidence of cost
  • Providing relevant insurance cover for volunteers
  • Treating all volunteers in line with UITC’s equality and diversity policy

Volunteers will be responsible for:

  • Performing their volunteering role to the best of their abilities
  • Acting within the boundaries of their role description
  • Acting in line with the relevant UITC’s policies and procedures
  • Maintaining any confidential information of the organisation and its players/families
  • Honouring mutually agreed time commitments
  • Letting UITC know, with reasonable notice, if they are not able to volunteer

Please note: this agreement is in honour only and is not intended to be a legally binding contract of employment.

This policy was reviewed / approved by trustees on 18/04/2017. This policy will be reviewed every two years as part of UITC wider policy/procedure review. Should there be changes in relevant legislation it may need to be reviewed earlier.
